The focus of this training session is Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) in the context of laboratory equipment. We will discuss the required tasks to ensure quality data from the standard equipment used on a daily basis in a lab. This training will cover calibration basics, specific QA/QC requirements, and frequency that calibrations and checks should be completed. Equipment covered include pH and dissolved oxygen probes, balances, pipettes, incubators, ovens, refrigerators, thermometers, and basic glassware. These often-overlooked items are critical to data quality and deserve the same emphasis on QA/QC given to specialty equipment. Bring your own pipette and we'll help you calibrate it in the pipette rodeo! Lunch will be provided.

This course has been approved for 0.35 training units for water treatment, wastewater treatment, and industrial wastewater treatment (for a max TUs of 0.35) in the QA/QC category. Please register with the name you would like to be acknowledged on the TU certificate. ID will be required for attendees needing TUs.
